Good afternoon, we strive for the American dream yet we are still under the rule of the KING. The ‘proper’ way has hindered us from succeeding in obtaining the American dream. However, didn’t we fight a war to become free from the ‘proper’ way? The rule of the King (Queen) should not be able to control our path to success. However, society has adopted these rules and wrote books conditioning us to follow these rules once again. If these rules are not followed, you are considered a rebel, ghetto, without class, etc. Who really determines these rules to be law? How do we succeed amongst the masses without compromising ourselves? If we were to all follow the King, how would we show our diversity that America has prided itself on? The King’s reign is over. No book with ‘proper’ anything should rule your life. We should be able to succeed through our unique ways of being. Success doesn’t come from you knowing how to eat with the proper fork, holding your teacup with your pinky extended, or pronouncing all of your words like a Shakespeare play. YOU not society dictate your success. Plant your seed of diversity and watch it manifest. The King’s rule only looks like it has cultivated the greener grass because there if everyone is following the same way there’s nothing to show a different shade. Let’s lead first and follow last. There are many beautiful shades of green to paint a picture of success. Is your shade noticeable within the picture?
