World of Walls
Good morning, we have become brick walls to one another. No one lets their guards down afraid of being pushed over. So to find comfort we fall into the wrong hands. All we’re thinking about is holding our ground while the other wall falls. We have conquered something we are not even intrigued with. We allow ourselves to stick around for convenience but without compassion. These are dangerous games we are playing but do we really care? Not at all, why should we it doesn’t affect us, right? Breaking down a barrier brings on an emotional tie that we don’t know how to survive. Whether we want to believe it or not we are now tangled in a web of lies that will soon suck us dry. Some will stay content and be fooled by our lies but others will drift away building back up their walls. And that one that we wish to hold on to fights back and forth with each brick laid another falls but not from their wall but ours. We struggle to build together because we have created such a hard shell that we believe cannot be broken but has been cracked slightly. We fear where it might lead us to open that barrier and build an alliance to withstand. We fear the feeling it may truly bring and we fear the vulnerability that will be exposed. We build these walls not realizing we are hurting and in turn hurting our encounters. We fall short of true happiness and a sense of loyalty carrying the weight of the world on our shoulders. Our pride will have us deceive not only the world but ourselves from the reality of what is truly inside.
